Wayne drivers might occasionally reach the car door before realizing they forgot their keys. But leaving without our smartphones? Almost unthinkable.

It's a sign of the times. Hyundai, with the help of Trustonic Application Protection (TAP), has developed a way to make key fob and smartphone one and the same with the recent introduction of the Digital Car Key app at the New York International Auto Show.

Your Smartphone can Become Your Car Key

Digital Smart Key debuts with the arrival of the 2020 Hyundai Sonata, and its operation is as intuitive as you'd expect. It acts like your key fob, only better.

In addition to unlocking doors and starting the engine, Digital Smart Key can be shared by as many as four people. The vehicle configures itself to each user, adjusting mirrors, seat settings, and even radio presets. It's never been easier or more convenient to share a vehicle in Bloomfield.

Hyundai Digital Car Key is Secured by TAP

TAP, or Trustonic Application Protection, ensures a secure connection for authorized users. Transfer requests are safely displayed, and can only be approved by bona fide, authenticated users on trusted devices. Trustonic offers multiple layers of protection, which is why Hyundai tasked them with the development of this new technology.

Digital Car Key will arrive this fall alongside the new 2020 Hyundai Sonata. If you want to see this new smartphone app in action, drive over to Wayne Automall Hyundai from Paramus, NJ, and Jersey City. We'll be happy to show you the full capabilities of Hyundai Digital Car Key!
